The Eligibility Services Department at Allied is responsible for the day to day operations of the following services: Eligibility, Prescription Benefit Manager (PBM), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and COBRA. The Supervisor, Eligibility Services is responsible for overseeing daily Eligibility Services operations. This includes issue resolution and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee daily Eligibility Services operations
- Communicate status updates, issues, and recommendations to management
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows and quality control measures
- Recommend creative approaches to overcoming obstacles to achieve results
- Provide feedback, coaching, and guidance when appropriate to facilitate development the Eligibility Services team
- Execute effective resolution for escalated client issues and inform the appropriate Allied team(s)
- Serve as a point of contact to other departments for escalated Eligibility Services issues
- Oversee the new business and renewal process and delegates work as needed
- Maintain a “sense of urgency” resulting in the ability to influence the organization to exceed performance standards and customer expectations
- Communicate monthly client service turnaround times and key performance indicator (KPI) data to management
- Select and motivate team members to ensure efficient and effective operational outcomes
- Lead, coach, motivate and develop. Responsible for one-on-one meetings, performance appraisals, growth opportunities and attracting new talent.
- Clearly communicate expectations, provide employees with the training, resources, and information needed to succeed.
- Actively engage, coach, counsel and provide timely, and constructive performance feedback.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Health Insurance and Eligibility Services environment required.
- Must possess demonstrated supervisor potential (i.e. previous team lead role, project leader, etc,) is required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel programs and have the ability to easily learn other data systems.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general plan benefits and guidelines.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively respond to questions from management, co-workers, members, providers, and clients.
