Summary:
The Supervisor of Core Lab is actively involved in daily oversite of Core Laboratory operations and staff. The supervisor will perform laboratory testing and will act as a resource to department staff, physicians and other Altru staff on issues related to the provision of laboratory services. This Supervisor develops collaborative working relationships with internal customers and establishes and supports performance standards, meets regulatory requirements and works to continually improve the quality of service. The supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for employees assigned. This leader holds team members accountable in adhering to the Altru Behavior Standards and providing world-class services.

Essential Job Functions:
- Advises leadership of significant and/or unexpected variances. Demonstrates an understanding of the budget and assists leadership in keeping within fiscal parameters. Assists leadership in requests for capital expenditures.
- Demonstrates competence in technical work assignments.
- In conjunction with department service supervisors, supports and monitors compliance with all applicable regulatory agency standards and requirements and address areas for improvement/deficiencies by implementation of timely effective action.
- Maintains proficiency in technical skills to perform service area tests, tasks, and procedures.
- Responsible for staffing, scheduling, and workflow for the service area, prioritizing and adjusting needs in relationship to workload.
- Carries out the hiring process for Manager-approved positions. Provides information and makes recommendations to the Manager on disciplinary action and separation related decisions.
- Demonstrates an understanding of budgets impacting service area, provides input for budget development and reconciliation, and assists the Manager in meeting budget expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
