POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Supervisor of Operations supervises Event Air Managers for the coordination of day-to-day administrative and internal/external client workflow responsibilities. This is a working supervisor position with some account assignments.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of five years’ experience in travel industry (preferred).
- Minimum two years’ experience as a supervisor/lead in travel industry - Travel Agency/TMC (preferred).
- Ability to recruit, train and motivate staff to support the goals of the department and the mission, vision and values of the company.
- Ability to utilize leadership skills to assess employee skills, training and developmental needs, coordinate work priorities and provide constructive performance feedback; the ability to encourage a customer-focused team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding salary and personnel issues.
- Experience in client contact to include account management
- Air Program Management -
- Will be asked to manage some client accounts with high-touch service.
- Understand the expectation and needs of a program.
- Understand participant/client requests and respond with clear written communication regarding airline schedules, costs, upgrades and extension plans.
- General Booking & Ticketing Knowledge-
- Apollo/Smartpoint or other airline GDS (Global Distribution System)
- Process timely reservations and ticketing for group or individual travelers
- Extensive travel knowledge.
- Ability to think analytically with short- and long-term planning.
- Ability to interact with a varying group of internal and external customers.
- Ability to analyze and resolve client-operational issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle varied projects over short time span.
- Ability to listen, understand, and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
- Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects or meet deadlines.
