Superior School of the Performing Arts Coordinator
Report to: Building Principal & Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree Fine Arts or related field
- Experience in at least one theater-related arts discipline (dance, drumming, singing, acting, creative writing, etc.)
- Experience teaching children and/or teenagers
- Energy, responsiveness, flexibility, creativity
- Attention to details, ability to work independently
- Openness to learning new techniques in the creation of original performance material
Job Description/Responsibbilities:
- Successfully create and implement curriculum programming to meet grade level Performing Arts standards. Students will build community and Performing Arts skills (incorporating body, voice, and ensemble work), which will culminate in artistic presentations throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts Team in the curriculum development process
- Collaborate with building staff and guest artists to successfully present the artistic presentations and fully produced productions at assigned sites.
- Attend meetings with the principal, building leadership team, and members of the Curriculum & Instruction Department to share outline highlights, session progress, questions, and challenges of program implementation.
- Create detailed and accurate lesson plans, attendance records, session progress notes for the program as indicated by the principal.
- Completing other duties that relate to the Superior School of the Performing Arts as determined by the building principal.
