Asone of the Four Pillar Directors, you will have the amazing opportunity to overseethe day-to-day operations of the historic Hoover Auditorium; home to Lake Erie'sfinest shows, dynamic performers, and entertainment. You will be responsible forthe scheduling, management, budgeting, and oversight of all arts-related programmingprovided in relation to the Lakeside Chautauqua mission. Duties include hiring,managing, evaluating, and collaborating with all managers and coordinators in Arts& Entertainment leadership positions.
Focuswill be on the energetic and creative arts programs including Hoover Auditorium,Saturday afternoon concerts, Sunday in the Park series and Special Eventsincluding Lakeside Art and Photography Shows, and Hoover Lobby exhibits.
Essential Duties& Responsibilities:
Research,budget, negotiate, schedule and contract Hoover Auditorium, Steele Memorial Bandstandand Pavilion Arts & Entertainment events during Chautauqua Season andshoulder season events including Lighthouse Festival, Lakeside Christmas, andsimilar events
Supportfellow Pillar directors and other departments with logistics of all programsheld in Hoover Auditorium (Lutheran Chautauqua, Keynote series, Sunday worship,etc.)
Manageall aspects of contract requirements for Hoover acts including but not limited tolodging, hospitality, local ground, and special requests
AssistHoover Technical Director with coordinating all elements of technicalproduction, including rental agreements for gear and backline rentals
Provideguidance to Hoover Technical Director on recruiting, hiring, and evaluating crewand all seasonal staff
Recruit,hire and train seasonal Arts & Entertainment Management Intern, Hoover TechnicalDirector and LSO Manager and Librarian
Assistwith overall operation of the Lakeside Symphony Orchestra
Manageintern in facilitating Art Show, Photo Show, Plein Air Festival, and GladiolaShow
AssistMarketing staff in gathering electronic press kits and other promotionalmaterials for inclusion on Lakeside Chautauqua website, calendar of events, newspaper,and other publications
Overseeall music and movie licensing contracts, and ensure all licensing data istracked, reported and invoices are paid in a timely manner
Networkwith colleagues through Ohio Arts Professionals' Network, Midwest Arts Expo andother avenues to ensure a high caliber artist series is planned for HooverAuditorium
Assistwith the operations and management of arts programs in Orchestra Hall
Coordinate with programming staff and other departments toaccomplish the above functions
Providepresentations on Lakeside Chautauqua and upcoming season programming to localservice organizations, church groups, senior communities, etc.
Serveas active member of the Lakeside Chautauqua management team; attend allscheduled huddles, meetings, and retreats
Ensuresafe practices and procedures are implemented for all areas of supervision

SupervisoryResponsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization'spolicies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include the supervision of full-timeand seasonal employees hired to assist with the operation. Direct communicationwith the President, management team and other key Lakeside Staff.

Educationand/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in theatre/arts management or related fieldrequired, Masters degree preferred. Experience in Arts & Entertainment programmingas well as business organizational knowledge is strongly recommended. Must possesseffective written and verbal communication skills and exhibit commonsense. The ability to motivate and managea team, as well as creative thinking and strategic planning experience required.
LanguageSkills:
Ability to read and interpret. Ability to write routine reportsand correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers oremployees of the operation.
MathematicalSkills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts,interest, commission, portions, and percentages and to apply the basic mathconcepts.
Reasoning Ability:
