Teck is looking for an experienced Superintendent, Maintenance Engineering to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Asset Planning & Reliability Manager, the Superintendent, Maintenance Engineering is responsible for overseeing Maintenance Engineering activities and team for plants and services at Trail Operations.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Manage and oversee Maintenance Engineering for the Lead Operations plant, Leaching plants, and E&M plants as well as other groups as assignedAlign plant and site-wide priorities and set expectations for the Maintenance Engineering team aligned with the 20-year and 5-year business plansProvide input into the Maintenance Engineering budget by monitoring and reporting on expenditures and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and explaining variancesDefine timing of major maintenance based on risk assessments, develop cost estimates for the work that can be included in the budgeting process, and develop detailed scopes to provide clarity on the work to be doneDefine, develop, communicate and analyze key performance indicators for Maintenance Engineering ensuring alignment with Trail Operations' overall planMaintain a prioritized list of the Maintenance Engineering improvement objectivesTrack and report on the execution of approved Maintenance Engineering actions from Asset Management PlansMonitor, analyze and improve the Maintenance Engineering processes to ensure fit-for-purpose and maintain process documentation
- Lead and mentor a team of Engineers and Specialists by overseeing accountabilities, providing direction, driving performance and excellence, and organizing workloads to achieve a positive working environmentProvide short and long-term performance and career development for employees; provide opportunities for assignments that leverages skills, promotes learning, and grows people's capabilities
- Develop and maintain cross functional working relationships with Operating Managers, Area Superintendents, and Maintenance Engineers/Specialists to ensure priorities are aligned with business requirements and expectations are met regarding deliverables, timelines and quality.Collaborate with stakeholders prioritizing transparent and proactive communication
- Recommend and implement Maintenance Engineering improvements by identifying opportunities, executing improvement initiatives, and validating performance resultsEvaluate the Maintenance Engineering processes, conduct analysis, and complete evaluations
- Partner and collaborate with the Superintendent, Asset Planning to coordinate the development of Asset Integrity results needed for Asset Management Plans

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience performing Maintenance Engineering in an industrialized environment.
- Applicants need to be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. ("EGBC") as this will be a condition of employment. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration.
- Supervisory and mentoring experience strongly preferred
- Experience with predictive maintenance and CMMS systems technologies an asset
- Experience with Risk Based Inspection Process and Project Management principles required
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to plan and organize resources and activities.
- Ability to analyze maintenance process metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
