Superintendent

The Brodsky Organization is a third-generation New York family owned and managed business that has successfully developed and managed residential and commercial properties in Manhattan and Brooklyn for over sixty years. Our portfolio encompasses over 7,000 residential units and includes more than 1000 affordable housing units.

The successful candidate must be an experienced team player that is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and courteous in dealing with residents and colleagues alike.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively managing and overseeing union operations staff.
• Preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and resolution of mechanical issues
• Daily inspection of building and grounds.
• Apartment preparation, including move ins/move outs.
• Supervising contractors and vendors and tracking invoices.
• Overseeing major capital improvements
• Superintendents are “On Call” for escalated concerns.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of handyman, or building/mechanical system experience in Luxury residential or Class A Commercial properties
• Professional integrity, possess a “can-do” attitude, be a problem-solver, be well-organized, and consistently see projects through to completion.
• Ability to act proactively, independently and with minimal supervision.
• 5 years’ experience supervising a union staff.
• Superior troubleshooting skills.

• Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems, equipment, and supplies.
• Competence with plumbing, electric, carpentry/sheetrock, and appliance repair.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service ethic.
• Working knowledge of BuildingLink, Yardi, BMS systems, and MS Office Suite preferred.

Education: HS Required, College or other advanced education preferred.
