Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary School Teacher to join us this summer at our tutoring company. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to helping students excel in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. As many of our students are English Language Learners (ELL), you need to have experience working with this demographic and possess the skills to adapt lessons to meet their unique needs. You will have a one-on-one class with your student from 10am-1pm. For 3 to 4 days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning:
- Create tailored/personable lesson plans in ELA and Mathematics based on each student's individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Develop engaging and interactive lessons that promote active learning and student participation.
- Instruction:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in ELA and Mathematics to elementary school students from VPK-5th grade.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians on performance, strengths, and areas needing development.
- Support and Guidance:
- Offer academic support and guidance to students, helping them build confidence and develop essential skills.
- Assist students in developing effective study habits and organizational skills.
- Communication:
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and achievements.
- Collaborate with our team to ensure cohesive and consistent support for each student.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license.
- Experience teaching elementary school students, particularly those who are English Language Learners (ELL).
- Strong knowledge of ELA and Mathematics curriculum and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping students succeed.
- Create and write lesson/notes.
Schedule:
- 3 to 4 hours per day, 3 to 4 days per week (10am - 1pm)
- With opportunity to tutor other students
- Summer session duration. Can extend into school year if a quailified fit.
