Summer Law Clerk

Mendota Heights firm Knutson, Flynn & Deans, P.A., an established private law practice dedicated to representing Minnesota public school districts and charter schools, has an opening for a Law Clerk for the summer of 2024. In the course of representing public school districts and charter schools, the associate will work in a variety of areas of the law, including labor and employment, constitutional and civil rights, open public meetings, data practices, student rights, special education, contracts, construction, and administrative law.

Duties will include:

· Conducting research into legal issues;

· Engaging in the fact-finding process through client interviews;

· Drafting memoranda, correspondence, opinions, policies, contracts and court documents; and

· Working with senior and associate attorneys on specific cases and other projects.

Position Requirements:

A successful candidate will be a current law student who can demonstrate:

· Strong academic credentials and intellectual curiosity

· Ability to work collaboratively with others

The current intent is for the position to be a full-time, in-person role at the office in Mendota Heights, but for the right applicant flexibility is a possibility.

Pay: Pay will be set at an hourly rate which will depend on qualifications and experience.
