Requisition Summary

This PACCAR internship provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact on innovation in PACCAR Distribution Centers (PDC's) worldwide, take part in the very first engineering team to support PDC's. The team's mission is to explore technologies of the future, and their improvement to active operations. Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities, and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our dynamic organization, while enhancing your resume. At the end of your internship, you have the opportunity to present your accomplishments to your fellow interns and PACCAR Parts senior executives, including the division General Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with the leadership team to explore emerging technologies to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall operational efficiency. 
  • Assist in project management to prepare construction of the PPD Innovation Center, a high-tech area where PACCAR engineers and managers will analyze new technology to improve safety and operational efficiency. 
  • Explore a topic of interest and provide proof of concept for a technological improvement that has a strong impact on the operation.
  • Perform project work and hands-on duties to build operational experience. 
  • Benchmark various U.S. PACCAR facilities for process engineering and overall technology usage. 
Qualifications

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program. Below are specific qualifications for this position: 

  • Excellent technical, analytical, and verbal skills 
  • Self-starter/Resourceful
  • Proven problem-solving skills 
  • A 3.0 GPA or higher 
  • Preference will be given to the candidate who can work 40 hours/wk.
Education
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or graduate program. 
  • For undergraduates, junior or senior standing preferred.

Wage Scale or Salary Range

The salary range for our intern positions is as follows:

  • Undergraduate Students: $25.00/Hour
  • Graduate Students: $30/00/Hour
  • Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
