About The Program:
This summer you could have the opportunity to join the exceptional Grocery Outlet Corporate team. Our Emeryville, CA / Sacramento, CA based program gives students real-world work experience while learning about our amazingly unique business model. In addition to your project, you will be exposed to all areas of our business. Along with your day-to-day project work you will get to lunch & learn with our executives and explore what a career at Grocery Outlet is really all about. Just in case you were wondering, we hired almost 50% of our interns from last year!
Each intern will have the opportunity to work on a project that will help us solve an actual problem within our organization. No hypothetical projects here! This is a 10-week paid internship that will run from Tuesday June 18th – Friday August 23rd.
About the Team:
Our Supply Chain and Logistics team mission is to provide top notch service to our stores and purchasing teams, contributing to the goal to make Grocery Outlet the first choice for bargain minded customers while touching lives for the better. Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.
About The Project:
The goal is to build out an executive level business intelligence & analytics dashboard to drive safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy in our Supply Chain.
You will learn warehouse operations, terminology, and key performance indicators. You will complete dashboard draft with basic functionality and data and report the finalized dashboard to home warehouse for daily, weekly, and monthly use.
Responsibilities Include:
- Learning key warehousing operations, terminology, and key performance indicators
- Communicating with cross-functional stakeholders of varying technical expertise
- Utilizing MicroStrategy Dossiers to create a dashboard that is visually appealing, intuitive, and includes drill-down capabilities
- Documenting processes for creating, updating and maintaining the integrity of the dashboard
- Independent project management
- Relationship building

About The Pay:
- Base Salary: $21.00 Hourly
About You:
- New Graduate, Rising Senior or Master’s Student enrolled in an accredited program as of June 2024
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creative & independent thinker
- Great at presenting strong, fact-based points of view
- Detailed & deadline driven
- Thrive in a fast-pace environment
- Love to have fun! We don’t take ourselves too seriously
- Able to travel to the Sacramento, CA warehouse at least 1-2 times a week & the Emeryville office 2 - 3 times a week
- Strong data analytics background
- Prior experience in end-to-end dashboard / report building (experience with MicroStrategy Dossiers is a bonus!)
- Prior experience in a warehousing / distribution environment is a bonus!
