Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Summer Intern to join our team in Bellingham, Washington who has an interest in biology, wetland biology, wildlife biology, marine biology, botany, environmental studies, geology/earth sciences, hydrology, chemistry, soil science, geography, limnology, forestry, and/or water quality. If you are a rising star who likes gathering research, hypothesis, testing, and sharing knowledge in a creative way then this internship is for you!
As a Scientist Intern, you will gain experience working on challenging and exciting projects while being a part of a growing organization that meets our client's needs.
You will assist staff with the following:
- Integrated ecology
- Assessing restoration and environmental impacts
- Biological studies and project research
- Incorporating feedback from other scientists, engineers, and the management team
- Conducting basic research and data collection
- Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Experience, & Licensure/Certifications
- In the process of obtaining a (Bachelor's or Master's) degree from an accredited university as a Junior, Senior, or recent graduate
- Botany, Biology, Chemistry, Forestry, Environmental Studies, Geography, Earth Sciences, Hydrology, Marine Biology, Limnology, Soil Science, Water Quality, Wetland Biology, Wildlife Biology, or closely related field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Positive attitude and solid work ethic
- Self-motivated with sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Basic understanding of scientific study related fields
- Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to apply technical skills to project demands
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain required
Interns located in Bellingham, Washington will be paid $22.50 per hour.
