Job Title: Sr Rails Developer

*This is an onsite position at either the Edison, NJ or Bronx, NY office

Our company is a 50-year-old private business, located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. We are a manufacturer and distributor of major appliances, including vaccines, healthcare and life science refrigeration. We are adding staff to handle our recent growth, and the anticipated growth from the largest product expansion in our history. We are looking to expand our programming team. As a Sr Rails Developer, you will be joining a small Web Development team to contribute to the integration of our web application and ERP system. As well as develop and maintain existing web applications using Ruby on Rails 6+ from backend to frontend.

The ability to work in a team and alone with proper time management skills is key. The right candidate will also have the ability to write clean and scalable code.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Build, design, and maintain existing web applications
2. Write clean and maintainable code
3. Design and implement new features
4. Identify and address performance bottlenecks
5. Troubleshoot and debug issues
6. Collaborate with marketing team and/or other stakeholders to define new features

Minimum Requirements:

1. 5+ years of Ruby on Rails experience (frontend and backend)
2. Proficient in different stages of web development

(frontend, backend, authentication, authorization, caching, background jobs)

1. Experience of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript
2. Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Redis
3. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Requirements:

1. API development using Rails
2. Understanding of the latest Web technologies
3. Understanding of design and software architecture patterns

Not necessary, but great if you have experience with:

1. API development using Rails
2. Dev-Ops

Pay: $95,000-$110,000 annual, commensurate with education and experience.
