The Office of the Secretary is looking for an intern to join their team!
About the Office of the Secretary:
The Office of the Secretary (OSEC) provides a wide range of essential services in support of the Board of Commissioners, executive staff and the public. The office is comprised of the following units: the Board Management & Support Unit serves as liaison to the Chairman and members of the Board while facilitating and managing the agency's Board Authorization process, the Records Management Unit is responsible for policy oversight and management of the Port Authority's Records Management Program, the Transparency Unit is responsible for leading the agency's Transparency Program, and The Administration Unit handles all OSEC personnel, procurement and budgetary functions while providing office management services for both OSEC and the Executive Offices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with process improvement implementation, including redesign of agency wide OSEC SharePoint and the OSEC Board Unit internal SharePoint
- Assist the OSEC team with planning and implementation for board day execution
- Assist with all aspects of budget preparation and submission; including but not limited to budget entry, participation in meetings with our Management and Budget Department, creation of cost benefits analysis, etc.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)
- Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
- Interest in public service and/or transportation
- Willingness to learn
Desired:
- Attention to detail and flexibility to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of Adobe, Photoshop, etc.
Internship Details:
- The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan
- The internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23
- This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)
- The format is expected to be hybrid, partially virtual and partially in-person at 4 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan
- The hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)
