What does a Summer Intern at CNB do?
As the only local, full-service, community-owned financial institution in the Rochester area, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust is investing in you. Our interns experience firsthand what it is like working in the world of financial services. As a Summer Intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department help achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, intern will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer will culminate in presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2024. Program begins Tuesday, May 28th, 2024.
Home Equity Intern
The Consumer Lending Department is responsible for consumer lending including: auto loans, home improvement loans, debt consolidation, and Home Equity loans. As a Home Equity intern you will:
Review new application packages submitted by community office staff for completeness.
Order required disclosures / certifications using 3rd party websites / links.
Generate required disclosures from processing system and mail to borrowers within allotted time per Federal Regulations.
Interact with community office staff for missing information / documents needed for underwriting.
Track receipt of documents and move file to appropriate queue when ready for final approval.
Review closed loans files for accurateness prior to forwarding to Operations for booking to core system.
Monitor group e-mail for completed appraisals / title reports and image to appropriate database.
Assist the senior underwriter with maturing loan reports and mailings.
Assists department with day-to-day activities and special projects.
Attends and assists in meetings / appointments as needed.
Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information associated with position.
Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
What would our ideal candidate look like?
Currently pursing a degree in a related field.
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Possess strong communication skills and organizational skills.
Desire and comfort interacting with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally.
Impeccable dependability regarding schedule.
Have an interest in Consumer Lending.
Schedule: M-F 8:30a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs.

Compensation - $18 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
