Position Title:Drysdale Student Center HUB Student Associate - Summer
Supervisor's Title: Director of Student Activities
Session: Summer 2023 (May 20th - August 19th)
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 9-5pm (40 hrs a week)
Hourly rate: $12.00
Average hours per week: 8-10 hr/wk
Job Purpose: Aid in the day to day function of the Drysdale Student Center Hub Information Desk
Skills Development and Learning Opportunities Available:
As a Drysdale Associate you will constantly be welcoming guests, faculty, staff, and students into the building; as well as answering questions about our campus. Working for the Student Center will allow you to strengthen your people skills and your knowledge of the school's grounds. As a Drysdale Associate, you will be taught where all the different offices and departments are on campus. Working as a team and working with other members of the community from various departments is a large part of running the Student Center. You will be taught all you need to know in order to be confident to answer any question thrown at you. Students will be taught how to run credit/debit transactions through an online payment system.
Essential Duties:
- Welcoming guests, students, faculty and staff into the building.
- Answering phones and questions via the HUB information desk main line
- Running ticket sales and additional payments through the HUB online payment system
- Hanging posters and flyers across campus for upcoming events
- Maintaining a clean and orderly building by performing light cleaning rounds such as disinfecting and dusting.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Specific Skills:

- Knowledge of Google Drive, Sheets etc.

Educational Requirements:
Current enrollment in the University of Lynchburg and must be in good academic standing.

Special Oral/Written Skills:
- Basic English-language oral and written skills for understanding, interpreting, and completing assignments.
- Effective oral communication skills are necessary to provide courteous, responsive assistance.
