Job Description:
As a Summer Camp Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our campers and staff enjoy delicious, nutritious, and memorable meals throughout their Summer Camp experience. You will have the opportunity to create a positive impact on the camp community by preparing and serving meals that energize and satisfy our campers.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve well-balanced meals for campers and staff, considering dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Create weekly menus that are both nutritious and appealing to campers of all ages.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Supervise kitchen staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support consistently.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive dining experience for campers and staff.
- Collaborate with camp leadership to accommodate special events and dietary needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a chef in a camp, restaurant, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of Kosher style, nutrition, dietary restrictions, and meal planning.
- Ability to work and stay calm in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to meticulous detail.
- Excellent communication (especially active listening) and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of a Summer Camp kitchen.
- ServSafe certification or equivalent is a plus.
