Are you passionate about working with kids and making a positive impact on their lives? Do you have the energy and enthusiasm to inspire and engage young learners? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Summer Camp Counselor at Crouching Tigers!
We are a mobile enrichment program specializing in martial arts for students between the ages of 2 and 8. We extend our program to many schools, daycares, libraries, and community centers across our Greater Indianapolis territory. Join our dynamic team and help create an unforgettable experience for children as they learn martial arts and showcase their skills.
No prior experience in martial arts? No problem! We are an introductory program and our curriculum is very basic for our young students. We are excited to teach you the skills necessary for this role!
Job Duties:
As a Summer Camp Counselor, your main objective is to ensure that every Crouching Tigers camp is the highlight of each child's week. In your 3 to 4 hour long Summer Camp sessions, you will empower students to achieve a sense of accomplishment, culminating in the exciting opportunity for them to break boards and showcase their newfound skills.
In addition, you will play a crucial role in teaching life skills and contributing to character development through engaging stories. Camp counselors will be responsible for teaching students essential skills such as gun safety, fire safety, stranger awareness, and germ awareness. These lessons are designed to equip campers with practical knowledge that extends far beyond the martial arts focus of the camp.
Requirements:
- Passion for working with kids: You have a track record of inspiring and mentoring children, and you genuinely enjoy making a positive impact on their lives.
- "Camp counselor-like" personality: You possess a vibrant personality, always wearing a smile and radiating energy. Your creativity, engaging nature, quick thinking, and ability to adapt to students' needs are key to creating a memorable experience.
- Professional image: As an instructor representing Crouching Tigers, we expect you to uphold a professional image and maintain high standards of conduct.
- Personal accountability: Your day begins at the location of your first camp, eliminating the need to commute to an office. You are responsible for punctuality and being prepared for each camp.
- Ability to drive: A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are essential, as driving to your camp locations is a necessity.
-A working smartphone: As a mobile instructor, you will need to be able to access your schedule and applications required for teaching via your mobile device. It is essential that your mobile phone is capable of seamlessly installing and running key applications, including but not limited to Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Calendar, and our timekeeping application.
- Minimum age of 18 with a clean record: We are committed to hiring individuals who meet our stringent standards to teach our students. State and national background checks will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
If you have a passion for working with children, a vibrant personality, and a commitment to creating an exceptional learning experience, we want you to join our team!
Note: Our Summer Camps are scheduled at various locations throughout the territory. Our schedules run Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm.
