Camps Kenwood & Evergreen is seeking an experienced Allergy/Special DietsChef to work in our summer kitchen. The dates of employment are from June 11 to August 10, 2024

Camps Kenwood and Evergreen are brother-sister overnight Summer Camps, specializing in life-changing experiences and growth for children through sports, arts, outdoor pursuits and most of all through the relationships created in our inclusive community. The Camp is located in Wilmot, New Hampshire (just 2 hours from Boston) and during the summer is home to a vibrant, welcoming community of over 340 children and 200 staff from all over the world.

The Allergy/Special Diets Chefis responsible for the safe preparation and service of food for our staff and campers with special diets.

Responsibilities:

• All allergen-free food service operations, following proper procedures for safe food receiving, handling and storage
• Daily preparation and cooking of various meal components while ensuring kitchen prep, cooking and cleaning tasks are completed in a timely manner and meet quality controls
• Maintain quality kitchen environment by practicing proper cleaning, safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
• Ensure timely preparation and serving of quality meals with ample selection and nutrition.

Requirements:

• Professional culinary experience, in particular in the preparation and service of allergen-free food to accommodate special diets
• A strong sense of organization and responsibility - working with a vulnerable population, this is a MUST.
• The ability to maintain a professional atmosphere and develop a team atmosphere throughout the foodservice facility and team
• The ability to give and receive constructive input and work interpersonally with superiors, subordinates, peers and camp staff.
• Availability to work on site from mid June to end of July.
• The ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some opening and closing shifts
