RTL Silicon Design Engineer Co-Op
LOCATION:
AMD Hudson Valley Design Center, Fishkill, New York
ONSITE: This role requires the student to work from the Fishkill office throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term. First-time Co-ops/Interns should work full-time and onsite.
PROGRAM TERM:
Summer: Start Date May 20, 2024
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
As a logic designer Co-Op at AMD, you will be writing and designing RTL for the next generation of AMD's microprocessors. You will learn techniques to write and to develop efficient Verilog code to meet AMD's timing, area, and power budgets.
  • Working closely with the AMD microprocessor development team, you will learn the latest in processor design flows and methodologies to optimize the performance and power for processors that run some of the world's largest data centers.
  • Students will gain insight into the cutting-edge architecture that enables AMD's processors and will implement RTL logic in the most advanced FinFet Silicon technologies across the industry.
  • Students will have an opportunity to make an impact on AMD critical projects, collaborate with broader teams across AMD, and apply their logic design skills to solve complex problems.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Students pursuing an BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
Some knowledge of Computer Architecture is preferred.
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
Project work in Microprocessor design, for example: Class project implementing a RISC processor in an FPGA.
Experience writing logic in an RTL language such as Verilog or VHDL.
Knowledge of high-performance microprocessor architecture techniques.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, in their third (Junior) or fourth year (Senior) of study.
