Job Summary
The Communications Intern will play an integral role in developing stories, messaging, content, and communications to convey successes, lessons learned, and our culture. The Communications Intern will help establish UFCU's storytelling database and produce content for a variety of channels, including our intranet, email, and social media. This intern will have the opportunity to interview employees to create compelling content to position UFCU as an employer of choice.
The minimum commitment is 20-35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, beginning June 3, 2024 through August 23, 2024.

Essential Functions
- Writes original, compelling stories about our employees and the business.
- Supports UFCU's long-form multi-media storytelling strategy, which includes video, photography and written content.
- Conducts virtual interviews with leaders and individual contributors about their experience in being agile, experimental, and innovative.
- Maintains and manages UFCU's storytelling database, including filing stories and tracking the use of stories across channels.
- Develops internal marketing campaigns to ensure a consistent and high-quality pipeline of stories.
- Provides writing, editing, and administrative support for the Corporate Communications team.
- This position requires a strong command of writing for the web and digital channels.
- 100% comfort and demonstrable experience in interviewing subjects for profile pieces.
- Comprehensive experience writing both long (articles, blog posts) and short-form digital content (emails, taglines, CTA buttons, webpages).
- Assists in coordinating public relations projects.
- Supports the creation and distribution of press releases.
- Supports content marketing, crisis communications, and other PR projects.

Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with UFCU's partner accredited college or universities
- Minimum of 60 completed academic hours
- Majoring in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required. Job may require travel to varied locations throughout Austin metro area
- Must be bondable
