Ashley Hall is seeking qualified candidates for the substitute teaching pool for the 2023-2024 school year. Of particular need are Substitute Teachers with experience teaching experience in the following areas:
- Mathematics at the middle and high school level. AP experience is not required but is a plus
- Sciences at the middle and high school level. AP experience is not required but is a plus
- Early School
Substitute teachers provide their availability upon hire, giving them the flexibility to set days and times that work into their schedule. Lesson plans are provided by faculty. Lunch and parking are provided at no cost to substitutes by Ashley Hall.
Substitute Teacher's duties and responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
- Following lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
- Managing the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
- Adapting teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
- Covering regular Teachers additional duties supervising students in and out of the classroom. Examples could include duties such as drop off, lunch, pick up, etc.
- Providing in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
- For long-term substitutes: developing lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans
Candidates will submit a letter of interest, a resume, and professional references attached to the online application. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree for all levels except Early School. Hires will be subject to providing a copy of transcripts. Hires will also be subject to criminal background checks, drug screening and a TB test.
