Atlas Immersion Academy is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and vibrant home for passionate Early Childhood Educators in Portland, OR. We are supportive, rewarding, and collaborative with a focus on the safety and wellbeing of children.
We are looking for qualified Substitute Preschool Teachers to support one of our six school locations in Portland, Hillsboro, and West Linn. The multi-site substitute would work 16- 24 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with children in our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. Candidates who are fluent in Spanish, French, or Mandarin are preferred, but all levels of linguistic ability are encouraged to apply. Our Substitute Teachers would :
- Instruct infant, toddler, or preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Continue the consistency of schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
We are looking for :
- Substitute Teachers who have a minimum of 1-year experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility.
- Is passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives.
- Ability to easily build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs
- Fluency or Bilingual in French or Spanish or Mandarin is preferred but not mandatory
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to reliably commute to all school locations (Portland, Hillsboro, West Linn)
- Legal right to work in the U.S. (we do not sponsor visas)
- Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry preferred
