The Quaker School at Horsham (TQS) is seeking a per diem substitute nurse. TQS uses research-based programs provided by compassionate professionals to enable each student with complex challenges to blossom and achieve meaningful personal, social and academic success. Our compassionate community builds trusting relationships among students, parents, therapists, faculty and staff.
The students at TQS in grades K to PG have a mix of disabilities: ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, expressive and receptive language disorders and anxiety disorders.
Position Title: Per Diem School Nurse
Status: As needed
Rate: $40/hour
● Administer prescribed medications to students in accordance with medical orders and school policies.
● Maintain accurate records of medication administration, including dosage, time and student information.
● Provide immediate first aid to students and staff in case of injuries or medical emergencies.
● Collaborate with emergency response teams and local healthcare facilities.
● Maintain accurate and confidential health records for each student.
● Document all health-related incidents, assessments and interventions.
● Work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and other support staff to coordinate care and provide accommodations as necessary.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Compassion, patience and empathy when dealing with students with special needs.
● Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with valid state licensure. CPR and First Aid Certification; all state background check clearances.
