Substitute After-School Instructor

Job Description:
Instructing elementary aged children on various projects (Art, LEGO building, Computer Skills, Chess.) Our instructors are on elementary school campuses in their area, teaching classes to students K-6th grade. We offer all training and supplies needed to instruct classes. *KNOWLEDGE OF CHESS A PLUS!*

Qualifications:

Driver’s license

High school graduate

At least 18 years of age

Prior experience working with or around children

Must have your own reliable transportation (car necessary)

Must have a cell phone and access to a computer, printer, camera and internet.

A background check is required, the results of which may affect employment.

You live in or around: Sacramento and Greater Sacramento, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Roseville, Lincoln, Loomis, Rancho Cordova

Flexible and Adaptable! If you’ve ever worked in education you know how important it is to roll with the punches (within reason of course!)

Reliable! We need to be able to count on our instructors to not only instruct but to communicate properly with students, parents and staff in order to offer the most harmonious of courses.

Committed! You are here because you want to be! Each instructor is presented with a schedule which they agree to before stepping into the position. We trust that once you agree to a schedule you have committed through your time with us!

Punctual! Each shift is short and allows for minimal time with the kiddos! Every minute an instructor is late is a minute the children lose instruction.

Compensation: Teaching rate: $18-24 per hour. Prep time, meetings, and trainings are set at $15.50 an hour.

Candidate availability: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-5pm

Part-time, must be able to commit fromSeptember to June, 5-10 hours a week in the afternoons.
