Full Time Wind Farm Substation Project Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Substation Engineer to join to join our clients team. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5-10 years of work experience in the Wind Energy, Substation Design, and Utility Engineering fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire process of designing and constructing the substations for a wind energy project.

Responsibilities

• Create substation design for the wind energy project based on customer requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.
• Analyze and evaluate the highest safety and reliability standards of existing substations and develop new ones.
• Develop and review electrical schematics and drawings for the substation.
• Perform calculations such as power flow, fault analysis, and load flow to ensure the quality and reliability of the design.
• Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of the project.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to present the results of the design and construction of the substation.
• Monitor and inspect the construction of the substation to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Conduct periodic tests and inspections on the substation to ensure proper functioning.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and personnel working on the project.
• Troubleshoot problems with the substation and advise on the best solutions.
• Keep track of all project plans and timelines, and ensure the project is completed on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in wind energy, substation design, and utility engineering.
• Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and other industry standards.
• Knowledge of power systems, transmission lines, and other electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with computer aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
