Substance Use Treatment Technician Sat and Sun 11pm to 730am
We are hiring for a brand new Residential 3.1 Substance abUse Treatment facility in Baltimore. We are opening January 2024; come join us!! We are looking for an awake weekend overnight staff person for Saturday and Sunday evenings.
Job Summary
The Substance Use Treatment Technician is responsible for the support and monitoring of clients while in the program, as well as ensuring the physical environment is safe and clean. He/she will maintain close communication with clinical staff, nursing staff, and administration to ensure the client needs are being met.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
- Ensures the cleanliness of facility through sanitizing, dusting, deep cleaning, etc. all client areas of the facility (i.e. kitchen, dining room, gym, etc.) Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral problems and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
- Observes and manages urine drug testing and breathalyzer screening.
- Facilitates house meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.
- Maintains confidentiality of client records.
- Maintains established institutional policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops. May provide liaison with clients, families of clients, or external facilities and agencies.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or willingness to obtain GED
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR preferred.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associates degree in mental health or addiction treatment setting preferred)
- Training in motivational interviewing a plus.
- Training in Trauma Informed Care a plus.
- Recovery coach training a plus.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of community resources.
