Job description

Do you have a desire to provide evidence-based individual therapy, case management, and facilitate groups for individuals with co-occurring addiction and mental illness in a fast-paced outpatient setting?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as an Adult Mental Health/Substance Use Therapist on an Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment team. 
 
What You Will Be Doing
As a Mental Health/Substance Use Therapistyou will be a team member providing Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment, an evidence-based treatment approach for working with individuals with co-occurring Substance Use disorders and severe and persistent mental illness in an outpatient setting. The job requires you to hold an individual caseload for clients you will be responsible to by providing evidence-based therapy interventions and general case management services. This also includes treatment planning, relationship building, linking to ancillary services, use of risk assessment and intervention, trauma work, and case conceptualization. You will serve as a group facilitator using strategies such as motivational enhancement, psychoeducation, group processing, skill acquisition, and relapse prevention planning. Additionally, you will complete clinical evaluations, assessments, and reviews to ensure clients receive quality services appropriate to their level of need. You will complete all clinical documentation within 72 hours and at scheduled intervals. The schedule is 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
What We Require 
You will be a Master’s level licensed professional with a minimum of three years' of experience, and two years of facilitating groups is strongly preferred. You will have extensive working knowledge of co-occurring addiction and mental illness, group dynamics and facilitation, at least one evidence-based or promising practice interventions (such as but not limited to: motivational interviewing; solution focused therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy; dialectical behavior therapy; exposure; EMDR; somatic experiencing). You will work collaboratively as a member on a team treating a community of clients in a fast-paced environment. You will have a CAADC or the ability to secure a CAADC with a development plan through MCBAP. You will be licensed as a LMSW or LPC.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
