Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code.

Position Summary: Provide counselling and case management services to clients diagnosed with a Substance Use disorder, and often a co-occurring mental illness. To provide screening, comprehensive assessment, diagnosis/diagnostic impressions, individualized treatment plan, and treatment in the form of outpatient Substance Use disorder group and individual counselling to identified clients, in accordance with appropriate licensing rules. Provides treatment within the HHSC/TAC/ASAM approved evidence-based practices for outpatient Substance Use disorder treatment program under the direction of the Substance Use Disorder Program Director and Assistant SUD Director Knows and implements into practice Recovery Oriented System of Care principles and strategies. Knows and ensures compliance and fidelity with all state and federal statutes as well as all contract and/or licensing requirements for the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. Participates with the treatment teams in developing appropriate treatment plans for clients enrolled in the program in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Cross-training in all programs under the SUD department as well as obtaining /maintaining QMHP-CS

qualifications required. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.

Pay depends on qualifications and experience

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or another applicable field is required
  • Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in good standing with the State of Texas is required (must be eligible to bill all insurance, MCO, and Medicaid panels)
  • Trained in Recovery Oriented Systems of Care desirable
  • DOEP certified administrator/ facilitator highly desirable
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental illness is desirable
  • Will be required to take a training for Human Trafficking. This is a free and approved website by the State:

Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:

  • Current LCDC/LCDC-Intern/LPC/LCSW Texas Licensure required
  • DOEP facilitator and /or administrator preferred
  • Current driver’s license and a vehicle for use at work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and fill in for teammates when needed
  • Experience working with CMBHS preferred
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
  • Must be capable of completing documentation within regulatory guideline
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands, and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
  • The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to create and update spreadsheets on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as assigned
  • Ability to effectively market all SUD programs to community stakeholders and collaborate on identified projects
  • Ability to generate, read, interpret, and function as it relates to national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy / procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both a written and verbal format
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships
  • Ability to work with skill in identifying solutions to problems as needed
  • Ability to supervise LCDC-Interns as needed (when applicable)
  • Ability to be flexible with weekly schedule (evening and weekend hours may be required)
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing best practices and learn new programs as added to the department
