Roxbury Hospital & Treatment Center is a private, 112-bed detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric hospital located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. Roxbury also has 52 psychiatric beds on two units - one unit for adults and a separate unit for adolescents treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. We have been providing dedicated mental health care since 1984, and Shippensburg provides a healthy and expansive location to live, work and play.

Our Licensed Practical Nurses provide professional nursing care on our acute psychiatric units in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center. The LPN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practices on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON.

Job duties:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from children to adults depending upon which unit worked. The LPN is responsible for communicating patient treatment response, emotional and behavioral changes, milieu dynamics and other pertinent information. The LPN administers medication under the supervision of Charge RN. Additional nursing duties include completion of vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, assisting the RN with transcription of physician orders, and triage of patient needs. The LPN functions effectively in crisis situations under the guidance of the charge nurse using verbal de-escalation skills, physical holds and/or mechanical restraints as needed. The LPN contributes to ensuring the environment is safe for both patients and staff members through the use of safety rounds, patient flows, and milieu management techniques. Throughout the shift, the LPN completes all required documentation. LPN's work under the direct supervision of a charge RN and Unit Nurse Manager.
Requirements:
- A valid Pennsylvania Nursing License (LPN)-multistate/compact licenses not accepted
- Relevant work experience in patient care is highly preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability tow work with patients of all ages
