Position Overview:
As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor at Arbor Place, you will play a pivotal role in fostering this healing environment. You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate their initial steps in recovery within our Adult Residential SUD Treatment Program. This position requires a compassionate approach to care, offering client-centered support in a trauma-informed setting. - Minimum Requirements: Possession of a relevant degree in Counseling or related field and credentials by WI DSPS as SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC. A Valid driver’s license required.
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience in Substance Use Disorder counseling or similar roles is advantageous.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor is crucial in initiating the recovery journey for our clients. Your role involves a range of responsibilities that are vital to the effective functioning of our treatment program.
- Client Assessment: Conduct comprehensive intake assessments including ASAM assessments, mental health screenings, and Substance Use history evaluations.
- Client Care: Serve as the primary counselor for clients, supporting them throughout their treatment and facilitating group therapy sessions.
- Documentation and Coordination: Manage insurance authorizations and maintain thorough documentation, including progress notes, staffing reports, and discharge summaries.
- Teamwork and Communication: Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to client care planning and ensuring seamless communication within the team.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and development, including attending mandatory training sessions and obtaining necessary continuing education credits.
- Ethical Compliance: Adhere strictly to confidentiality and ethical guidelines as set forth by state regulations and the organization's policies.
