Provides patient care services primarily to clients in the outpatient component (IOP, PHP and community housing) of the Substance Abuse Treatment Program within an interdisciplinary team model. Promotes compliance with treatment plans and contracts. Facilitates patient participation in therapy and support groups and completion of assignments in the 12-step model. Is available to clients to deal with situations that may require attention prior to next treatment day. Monitors sub-lease living quarters for compliance with program and apartment complex rules, including monitoring of living conditions and maintenance of equipment and supplies in the apartments. Facilitates new patient transitions, drug screens and chart maintenance. Provides administrative and financial support to the operations manager, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or its equivalent required. College preferred.
- Previous, but recent, professional or volunteer experience in the Substance Abuse treatment field is preferred, including knowledge of treatment issues and relapse problems and a working knowledge of the 12-step model.
- Must have the ability to provide support and to set appropriate limits.
- The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, is required.
- Computer experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and organizational skills are required.
- Financial counseling experience preferred.
- If in recovery, must have maintained one consecutive year of sobriety immediately prior to and concurrent with employment.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Substance abuse certification preferred.
