Subject Matter Expert, Automation R&D
Subject Matter Expert, Automation R&D for St. Louis, MO to deliver robotic automation systems for laboratories & manufacturing facilities; plan & implement robotic automation investment and maintenance projects; define & support user requirements specifications, concept development, procurement and acceptance testing procedures; collaborate with internal & external experts to solve automation function, performance, safety, security, measurement, compatibility, finance and delivery issues; ensure compliance to technical & safety processes and standards; develop automation project management & technical guidelines; recommend automation systems based on market trends & user needs; identify areas for innovation & new technologies. Requires Bachelor's in Automation or Electrical Engineering, I.T. or closely-related field & 5 yrs progressive post-Bachelor's experienceconducting, tracking & maintaining laboratory automation projects; applying laboratory automation technologies, including PCR systems, liquid handlers, programmable logic controllers & 3D system designing tools and printing, to develop automation systems; performing cost estimation & supporting contract negotiation for laboratory automation instrument procurement and infrastructure; analyzing performance data using data visualization tools, including Python, Power BI, Spotfire and/or Power Automate; working with international technical practices, regulations and/or standards related to automation, robotics, laboratory infrastructure and/or labor safety; using laboratory information management systems software to conduct automation data management; and implementing factory acceptance & site acceptance testing procedures for automation tasks.
