Job description

A national leader in boutique fitness & wellness, StretchLab South Loop is looking for amazing talent to join our team as the Studio Sales Manager. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is goal-oriented and can lead our team to success. This is a great opportunity for someone with supervisor experience looking to move into a management role.

Founded in 2015 in Venice, California, StretchLab is the industry leader in offering one-on-one assisted stretching. Our studio is located in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, easily accessible from public transit (Roosevelt CTA stop) or by car.

The right candidate will have strong growth potential with our StretchLab South Loop & West Loop family, which offers a great mix of community oriented and family-owned small business backed by an international company with decades of experience in boutique fitness (Xponential Fitness).

This is a full-time position (38-40 hrs/week). Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule with some early morning, evening and weekend availability.

Compensation = Competitive Hourly Base + Robust Commission and Bonus (monthly & annual). Paid time off, subsidized health insurance & 401k

Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years of fitness sales or relevant sales experience (high end service or membership sales)
  • Confident in generating personal sales and supervising sales team
  • Ability to manage and drive multiple revenue streams including memberships and retail
  • Previous management or supervisory experience required
  • An affinity and passion for fitness & wellness
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills in person and over the phone
  • Must be solution-based and results oriented with a competitive but collaborative spirit
  • Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment
  • Highly organized, proficient in data management, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Professional, punctual, and reliable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public
  • Proficiency with technology and studio software/tools

Job Responsibilities

Sales

  • Perform the sales process of lead generation, follow up, and close including:
  • Book quality appointments to achieve monthly sales targets
  • Conduct tours of the facility & perform prospect needs intake while establishing a relationship and targeting individual’s needs and wants
  • Present available services to prospective members, work to overcome objections at point of sale
  • Follow-up with leads and missed intro sessions
  • Drive and retain memberships to meet the studio’s monthly membership goals. Drive retail sales and single StretchLab session sales
  • Provide exceptional level of customer service at the studio for members via face-to-face service, phone, text and email
  • Manage the front desk to greet and check-in clients and prospects when they enter the studio
  • Pull reporting and lead weekly Sales Dashboard review meeting (Sales staff & studio leadership)
  • Emphasize and enforce objectives of the studio as a fitness and wellness provider
  • Independently make decisions related to high level customer service

Staffing & Operations

  • Interview, hire, and onboard new team members to meet staffing needs in collaboration with Lead Flexologist and Owners
  • Retain staff by meeting with them regularly in both group and individual settings to discuss performance, grow their skillset, and learn about areas of opportunity for the studio. Develop and coach individual staff members via regular one-on-ones, coaching and role play sessions
  • Write the studio schedule and keep track of employees’ availability and time off requests
  • Enforce StretchLab policies and procedures for both customers and employees. Communicate policy misses to employees in accordance with company disciplinary policies when needed
  • Order supplies and assist Owners with selecting product and managing inventory for the retail section. Re-merchandise retail section regularly and ensure team is knowledgeable about products (clothing, stretching accessories and recovery tools)
  • Add new retail items to inventory, re-merchandise retail section of studio, and prepare new retail orders (can delegate to Sales team)
  • Ensure studio is clean and tidy
  • Any other duties as assigned

Marketing & Events

  • Manage studio social media accounts including execution of monthly marketing calendar, planning and creation of organic content, and responding to community engagement (comments & reviews)
  • Execute text and email campaigns to prospects and members per monthly marketing calendar and strategic planning with Owners
  • Plan and promote grassroots marketing efforts, including but not limited to community & fitness events, partnerships, and referral programs
  • Coordinate and act as on-site sales lead for special events (health fairs, grand openings, races and sports events, community and corporate programs) to promote 1:1 assisted stretch services
