JRA-Part of RWS Global is a leading force in the themed entertainment industry, dedicated to creating immersive experiences that captivate audiences worldwide. With a rich history of innovative projects, we are seeking a Studio Director to join our team.
Reporting directly to the VP of Design, the Studio Director, plays a pivotal role in shaping the creative vision of themed entertainment projects. You will lead and inspire a team of designers, guiding them to translate concepts into captivating experiences. This role encompasses overseeing the design process, ensuring excellence in creative execution, and fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Role & Responsibilities

  • Guide the creative vision for themed entertainment projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and brand identity.
  • Inspire and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.
  • Serve as the main contact for the inception and design development phases of an assigned project, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery while upholding JRA's creative and visual standard.
  • Motivate and influence the project team to provide excellent and efficient design solutions to custom suit the project.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Design and the Vice President of Creative in setting project design standards, creative intent and ensuring their consistent application.
  • Oversee the design process from concept development to implementation, maintaining creative intent throughout.
  • Assures that work effort, both internally and via outside resources, is tracking properly in terms of hours and available budget allocations.
  • Review and comment, providing feedback to the project design team including various subcontractors, disciplines, and vendors.
  • Travel domestically or internationally as required to support project design development, presentations, or proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, coordinators, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into project execution.
  • Work with the VP of Design to co-lead interfaces with other design disciplines and maintain creative intent.
  • Assist Business Development and Marketing as required, including creative support, project summaries, charrettes, project tracking, client interviews, presentations, and marketing briefs/articles.
  • Provide leadership and support for design team members, fostering professional development and growth.
  • Evaluate team members and recommend opportunities for advancement and additional support as needed
  • Collaborate with the VP of Design and the VP of Creative in client interactions, presenting and refining design concepts based on client feedback.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering creative solutions that exceed expectations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role in themed entertainment design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successful design projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent experience in themed entertainment
A valid passport for the duration of employment for all travel-related roles. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or proof of exemption) will be required.
