POSITION QUALIFICATOINS:
The foundation of this position is to serve the customers of the Bank. This position requires strong customer service skills and aptitude along with the desire to serve our customers needs in an outstanding fashion. This position requires strong math skills and the logical application of these skills. An aptitude for cross selling our products is a component of this position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• The Student Teller will be required to be a full-time college student during his/her employment with North Country Savings Bank.
• The Student Teller's work schedule will be based on breaks from college. (Summer, Holiday, etc.)
• The Student Teller's employment will expire at the completion of his/her college education.
• The Student Teller will perform teller and general retail banking responsibilities, processing a variety of customer transactions (savings, checking, loan payments, cashier's check, money orders, etc....) in accordance with the Bank's procedures.
• This individual is assigned to Administration. Typically, the Student Teller schedule is determined ahead of time. It is possible that the schedule can change at a moment's notice. It is expected that the individual filling this position be prepared to work at anyone, of the bank's offices. In the event the Summer Teller has not been requested and therefore is not scheduled in any office, he/she will report to the Retail Banking Administrator.
• The bank currently provides a bank vehicle for use, when practical and available. The bank pays mileage for use of a personal vehicle (beyond and above the normal commute), based on the recommended IRS rate in effect, for those times when it is not practical to use the bank vehicle or when not available. Management reserves the right to change this practice without notice.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer transactions.
• Receives/processes checks and cash for deposits/payment to all types of deposit and loan accounts; verifies amounts, verifies amount due, examines checks for proper endorsement.
• Cashes checks/performs withdrawals for customers upon proper verification. Redeems savings bonds.
• Balances cash drawer at end of day and compares totals with computer totals.
• Scan checks and savings bonds.
• Assist branch staff in end of night duties.
• Ensure teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
• Advise customers on status of accounts and answers questions.
• Answer telephone and written inquiries concerning savings, certificates and checking accounts and provides other account information.
• Cross-sells Bank products and services
• Assist other departments on a temporary basis or on as needed basis during peak business hours.
• Completion of all mandatory training

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Experience handling cash is desirable.
Skills
Good math skills.
Good interpersonal communication skills
Good computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. calculator)
Aptitude for use of Bank's Teller programs (Insight)
Other Requirements:
Reliable mode of transportation and valid Driver's License.
