Position Summary
Student Support Services STEM is a Federal TRIO Program sponsored by the United States Department of Education. It is an academic support program designed to improve the retention and graduation rates of 120 low-income, first-generation, and disabled Roosevelt undergraduate students enrolled in STEM disciplines at the Chicago Campus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Training and experience in services that promoting post-secondary student success of low income and first generation students in annual academic standing, year to year retention, and graduation rates.
Formal training and/or work experience in Effective Student “Coaching,” specifically in the areas of guiding program eligible students with career advising and guided pathways, financial literacy, goal setting, time management, self-advocacy, and study skills.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to multi task and providing excellent customer service

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree required; MA or MS in Sociology, Psychology, Education, Public Administration, Guidance Counseling, or related field.
Minimum of three years of experience in the areas of staff supervision, budget management, program development and evaluation, and reporting
and compliance with state or federal regulations
Management and supervising staff and budget knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of working with federal TRIO programs.
OR minimum of 3 years of experience in academic support programs, or programs low-income disadvantaged students.
Appropriate and relevant professional experience in overcoming barriers, similar to those in target population.
Strong commitment to higher education.
Background in STEM Education at the university level (e.g., Sciences, Math, Computer Sciences, and Social Sciences).
OR minimum of 3 years of experience in academic support programs, or programs low-income disadvantaged students.
