Student Radiology Tech - Saint Joseph Main

Saint Joseph Hospital is a 433-bed facility located in Lexington Kentucky. Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Their mission was to provide compassionate care to the poor and underserved – a tradition still carried out today. Assists Technologists with diagnostic procedures.  Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.  Prepares and maintains records and files as directed. Cleans and adjusts equipment.  Transports patients to and from radiology to all areas of the Hospital. 

1. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
2. Assist with procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist’s expectations and protocols.
3. Displays knowledge and complies with the National Patient Safety goals.
4. Supports and reports any identified compliance matters.
5. Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction.
6. Uses standard precautions, PPE, at all times.
7. Cleans and checks for malfunctioning of stretchers, wheelchairs, bedside commodes, and I.V. poles according

to unit protocol.

1. Attends all required educational programs as well as all Learn modules.
2. Identifies and immediately reports any actual or potential hazard observed in the hospital environment.
3. Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently.
4. Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within the assigned area.
5. Knowledge and performance of the Code of Conduct Standards.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience 

High school graduate.

Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in a JRCERT accredited School of Radiology.

Required Licensure and Certifications

BLS-CPR required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

Able to use computers. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and readily adapts to changing events in the radiographic environment.
