The Intern - Student Outreach program is designed to provide broad work experiences for individuals interested in non-clinical healthcare fields. Healthcare workplace experience will be gained by providing the intern opportunities to carry out specific projects and processes with the support of department staff.

Overview

This posting is for multiple openings of non-clinical Summer Internships for college or graduate students. The goal of this non-clinical Internship Program is to create a pipeline of diverse students to fill future Healthcare Administration and Leadership jobs with Providence in Alaska. As an Intern, you will be involved in a variety of projects and gain experience working in a highly matrixed healthcare organization.

This is a full time, paid, 10-week opportunity, occurring from June 3, 2024 to August 9, 2024. Housing and transportation assistance are not available. A laptop or other computer will be provided.

Available Host Department Placements: Environmental Sustainability, Food and Nutrition Services, Marketing and Communications, Emergency Management, Service Operations Center, and Human Resources.

Additional Learning: In addition to their work with their host department, all interns will have the chance to learn from Executive leaders, attend a site visit, and participate in job shadowing.

Interview Process: Selected candidates will participate in two 30–45-minute virtual interviews.

  • One general screening interview, and if selected,
  • One interview with a potential host department

Applications will be reviewed, and interviews scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Applications will close when all positions are filled or by April 1, whichever comes first.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training and completion of at least one year of post-secondary education
  • Coursework/Training and Enrolled in and working towards a post-secondary degree

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training and Completion of at least three years of post-secondary education
  • Coursework/Training and Enrolled in a healthcare or business related field
  • 1 year of Customer Service Experience
