Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Their mission was to provide compassionate care to the poor and underserved – a tradition still carried out today. Saint Joseph Hospital primarily serves central and eastern Kentucky with a full range of services including distinguished awards for cardiology orthopedics and stroke care. Job Summary / Purpose
The CHI Saint Joseph Health Administrative Internship is a program, based in Saint Joseph Hospital with CHI’s Kentucky Market administration. Interns will report to a member of the Executive Team, while also having mentoring opportunities with many members of the Senior Leadership team, allowing intern’s unparalleled access into how CHI Saint Joseph Health operates. Interns will be involved in a variety of financial, performance improvement, and operational projects, with the opportunity to lead one major project, which will be presented to Executive Leaders in the CHI Saint Joseph Health Kentucky Division.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities- Attend project meetings; coordinate and perform tasks as assigned by project leader
- Apply leadership skills and project management theories learned in the classroom
- Analyze and make recommendations for challenges encountered in a healthcare environment
- Complete and present assigned project work
- Collaborate and assist with project teams to assist in completion
- Research data and best practices related to Hospital Operations and strategy
- Present and demonstrate an understanding of key operational objectives
- Develop relationships with mentor and leaders to increase understanding of healthcare, organization

Must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Leadership, MHA/MPH/MBA program with a minimum 3.0 GPA
