Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.
Associated Students is now hiring for the position of WREC Student Fitness Attendant. This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. The pay rate is $15.50 per hour. The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time. To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

Work is performed in the Wildcat Recreation Center, various campus locations and outside environments; continuous contact with staff, campus community and public; possible contact with animals.

Walk for extended periods; Lift and carrying various weights; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer, iPad, telephones, copier. SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Open and close the WREC according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the open recreation areas of the facility with a focus on safety, enforcing policies, organization, and cleanliness.
- Enforce policies and rules via ongoing interaction and communication with users.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of facility and equipment.
- Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Submit injury, incident, and maintenance reports.
- Respond to emergencies or injuries in the facility.
- Conduct informative tours for individuals and groups.
- Perform duties without constant direct supervision and complete tasks and rounds as scheduled.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse population of staff, students, and co-workers.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
- Assist in other areas of the WREC and complete specific duties as requested or assigned.
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- Other duties may be assigned.
