Student Experience Coordinator (Korean-language)

DEPT: Welcome Center and Office of Student Engagement

HOURS: 40 a week

STATUS: Non-Exempt, Hourly

FT/PT/TEMP: Full Time

WORK MODE: Hybrid (Mix of Pasadena campus and remote)

REPORTS TO: Manager of Student Experience

Brief Description:

The Student Experience Coordinators work to lead the Welcome Center support staff in assisting Korean and English-speaking prospective students, current students, graduates and guests in exploring Fuller’s graduate programs, learning experiences, and offices through multiple communication avenues. They offer gracious customer service while helping students navigate all of the offices and departments they interact with throughout their studies at Fuller in collaboration with Korean Studies Center and student services, supporting processes with translation in Korean.


Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to a hospitable environment and provide exceptional customer service by establishing the “first-face” of Fuller

  • Respond to in-person, online, telephone, and mail inquiries

  • Support Korean-speaking prospective students, current students, learners, and alumni navigate the processes of Admissions, Registrar, Student Financial Services, Housing and Residential Services, Fuller Careers and Personal Development and Academic Advising offices

  • Collaborate with various departments to streamline and elevate customer service for students in Korean-language programs

  • Transport international students to and from the airport using a Fuller-provided vehicle

  • Complete basic document and financial transactions

  • Translate forms, communication and processes into English and Korean

  • Advise a diverse group of prospective students and learners regarding various degrees and programs, recommending those compatible with various personal interests, and ascertaining high prospects and qualified leads

  • Input data into SRM, Banner, Community Force and Google Calendars

  • Initiate and strengthen relationships with various departments and professors on campus in relation to position’s tasks

  • Give campus tours

  • Work campus events as needed

  • Assist with duties including filing, mail, and other organizational tasks

  • Other duties as assigned

General responsibilities as member of Global Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing, and Retention:

  • Partners with other members of GRAMAR team as needed and assigned to reach shared enrollment goals by delivering the highest level of service and creating the strongest sense of belonging for every student and learner who joins Fuller’s rigorous and formative learning community


Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 1-2 years customer service experience

  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills

  • Self-starter with a desire for teamwork

  • Ability to be outgoing and cheerful during interpersonal interactions

  • Proficiency with Word applications and E-mail

  • Enthusiasm for Fuller and a strong motivation to serve the needs of a diverse prospective student body including a large international population

  • Demonstrate ability in navigating varied cultural contexts in virtual and in-person interactions

  • Fluent (written and verbal) in English and Korean


Additional Remarks:

  • Must be willing to abide by Fuller Community Standards

  • This position primarily works in person on the Pasadena, CA campus. There is some availability to work from home on certain days.


Pay Scale:

  • Wage range the Seminary expects to pay for this role: $18 - $20 per hour USD
