Salary: $17.03 to $20.00/per hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position reports to the Executive Director of Student Engagement. The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for overseeing residence life housing processes and assignments, residence life staff, and residence hall activities. This position co-manages the administration of the college tutor program, and as needed, assists with academic advisement, exam-proctoring needs, accessibility services, and is the confidential scheduler for counseling appointments. The Student Engagement Coordinator will also engage with all other department activities, procedures, and processes as requested. This position supports all aspects of institutional, state and federal compliance requirements and mandates within the Office of Student Engagement.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clerical support to the Office of Student Engagement to include letters, filing, computer programming, promotional design, event setups/breakdowns, bulletin boards, photo maintenance, and daily distribution of the mail.
- Act as liaison for students with questions or problems related to, but not limited to housing, tutoring, accommodations, counseling. As needed, supports the dissemination of written information on accessibility services to students and others who make requests. Refer students to appropriate staff member for assistance if problems, questions or concerns are not routine in nature. Provide other departments with information regarding residence halls as needed (i.e., information for publications).
- Prepare housing packets for students and assist with room assignments. Provide requested information to Admissions on new students, Student Accounts for student billing purposes including meal plans, and Financial Aid for packaging purposes.
- Maintain all aspects of the housing module of the CAMS administrative system. Provide requested reports and updates, as necessary.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork/files related to the Residence Halls to include, but not limited to room condition report forms, inspection, inventory/maintenance reports, staff daily logs, and guest sheets. Coordinate inspections between residents, Residence Life staff, and Facilities personnel to include fire extinguisher, state fire, and other inspectors as necessary. Provide direct supervision and support for Residence Life staff.
- Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation process for Residence Life, Student Programming, and Work Study workers.
- Maintain information regarding off-campus living options for students to include the off-campus health centers.
- As needed, provide support in the administration of the College tutor program. Collect requests for tutors and support the recruitment of tutors to fill requests and vacancies. Get acquainted with students/tutors and consult with the Student Accessibility Services Manager in order to match personalities and learning styles to ensure maximum success of tutoring arrangement. Assist the Student Accessibility Services Manager with educating and training tutors through use of a formal training program.
- Assist with the administration of the College’s tutor program. As needed, supports the maintenance of statistics, report development, and manages payroll for tutors. Collect requests for tutors and recruit tutors to fill requests. Get acquainted with students/ tutors and consult with the Student Accessibility Services Manager in order to match personalities and learning styles to ensure maximum success of tutoring arrangement. Assist the Student Accessibility Services Manager with educating and training tutors through use of a formal training program.
- As needed, provide support for all processes related to students who receive academic accommodations and accessibility services.
- Engage initiative for the development, coordination, implementation, and/or provide assistance with a variety of social engagement activities and campus-wide events throughout the year. As requested, may serve on committees charged with the development of special College events, i.e., special ceremonies and events, etc.
- Provide support for Counseling Services as needed. Responsible for maintaining any related files to the position. Develop forms and other materials (preferably electronic/ paperless) as needed and distribute to college community. Respond to questions and requests, if able, and refer urgent situations immediately to Executive Director.
- Support educational programming and mandated trainings related, but not limited to, Title IX, Enough is Enough, VAWA, Clery Act, and SaVE. This includes institutional, federal, and state compliance support and oversight as requested.
- Act as a CSA (Campus Security Authority) and delivers training to cohort groups identified as needing to complete CSA training. Maintain the tracking of all students, staff, and faculty who complete CSA training.
- Assist the Executive Director with student complaints and documentation. Act on complaints as appropriate and within College policy as directed.
- Utilize Maxient Conduct Software in creative ways for managing processes and forms.
- Any other duties as needed and/or as assigned.
- Performance evaluations by the Executive Director of Student Engagement.
- Satisfaction of students, faculty, and staff with support services provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree preferred. One to three years of relevant experience in higher education, student life, residence life, counseling services, tutoring, accessibility services and/or other higher education related field. Experience leading groups and organizing events preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication and organizational skills necessary. Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced customer service, some of which will be confidentiality compliant, office environment. Must be flexible and able to function independently. Must possess good listening skills. Some nights and weekends as needed.
