Student Clerical Assistant - Urban League Of Northwest Indiana

THE CLERICAL ASSISTANT WILL SERVE AS A FRONT OFFICE CLERICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Answering the telephone – The Clerical Assistant should answer the telephone call in a professional manner and take concise, detailed messages.
• Updating email database – The Clerical Assistant should have average or above-average computer skills. The person will log into our email database and insert client information such as name, address, email address, home address, and phone number.
• Preparing mailings for upcoming events:
• Filing, answering phones and making copies: The Clerical Assistant will file folders, answer the office phone, respond to client inquiries, and learn how to use UL copier, scanner, and Mailchimp database.
• Will assist with services associated with the Federation of Block Club, College & Career Readiness, & VITA Program.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE A HARD-WORKING PROFESSIONAL ABLE TO UNDERTAKE A VARIETY OF OFFICE SUPPORT TASKS AND WORKS DILIGENTLY UNDER PRESSURE. THIS PERSON WILL BE COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN A FAST-PACED OFFICE WITH A DIVERSE POPULATION.

• Current PNW Student
• Federal Work Study Position

• Proven experience as a front office assistant, office assistant, virtual assistant or in another relevant clerical role
• Knowledge of computer systems (desktop, laptop, printers, etc.)
• Working knowledge of office equipment
• Thorough understanding of office management procedures
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in MSOffice
