About the Opportunity
This role will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of programs with direction and support from the Student Affairs team on the Seattle campus. Ideas and innovation based on interests/expertise are encouraged and supported.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires excellent coordination, organization, and written and oral communication skills including strong interpersonal skills. The candidate must be detail-oriented with strong customer service and interpersonal skills and a high level of self-confidence and enthusiasm. Proficient in using virtual communication platforms and online learning tools. Strong computer skills including proficient use of Microsoft Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word are required; knowledge of Adobe's Creative Cloud applications, specifically Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign is a plus. Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through completing an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Prior experience working in an office environment with a background in event planning and/or customer service is desired Experience working in higher education administration is a plus.
Evening and weekend work required as event program and activity needs dictate along with occasional local and regional travel to event sites. This position requires some lifting of heavy items and/or use of a hand truck to move event supplies and equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Support for Co-Curricular Programming:
Actively participate in programming brainstorming and planning sessions.
Develop and execute task timelines for scheduled programs.
Ensure appropriate staffing for all programs.
Ensure the smooth execution of scheduled programs.
Handle setup, hosting, and wrap-up tasks for programs.
2. Student Leadership Support:
Provide assistance to Student Interest Groups.
Offer support to student ambassadors.
3. Social Media Outreach and Communication:
Update pre-set Mailchimp newsletter templates as needed.
Regularly post content aligning with campus standards, goals, and objectives on Student Interest Group Instagram.
Support Student Affairs and the Marketing team in sourcing content efforts.
4. Community Engagement:
Respond to students' and campus partners' emails as needed.
Provide support for signature events and other campus partners' events.
Assist the Student Affairs and Wellness team in addressing students' inquiries.
5. Assessment Support:
Collect and track event survey data.
6. Documentation of Student Affairs Event Cycles, Policies, and Procedures:
Maintain accurate records of Student Affairs event cycles.
Document and update relevant policies and procedures.
7. Other Duties as Assigned:
Co-Curricular Programming Includes (but is not limited to):
Student Interest Group events.
Multiple on-ground student engagement events.
Signature events (January Orientation, Resource Fair, and Graduation).
Dialogue and/or educational sessions.
Student leadership meetings.
