Position Summary:Student Life & Leadership seeks a temporary employee to assist in the planning and delivery of our Student Activities programs. Starts at $22.36 per hour, 40 hours a week.


Duties:


10 Budget Management: Manage resources to ensure the successful delivery of programs. Support development of budget projections and manage budget expenditures. Work closely with the Fiscal Technician to understand and support monthly management reports, fiscal paperwork, purchasing guidelines and contracts. Essential


10 Supervision: Supervise, develop, and evaluate Student Activities student staff members. Determine best practices to implement for training and leadership development of staff members. Support or lead weekly staff meetings. Essential


5 Assessment: Develop a comprehensive, on-going assessment of programs, student needs, and preferences. Utilize assessment data to help determine student interest in programming. Essential


5 Other Duties as assigned. Essential


70 Event Management: In compliance with University regulations, negotiate performance dates, contracts, and itineraries; direct marketing and promotions; coordinate event logistics including production, catering contracts, technical requirements, and facilities operations; manage ticket sales and cash handling at events; when appropriate, coordinate ticketing with UAATix. Support delivery of major campus traditional events such as Campus Kick-Off, and Homecoming. Essential


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Experience in event production and management, risk management, and program assessment. Organizational skills, marketing, and promotion. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and extended hours.


Preferred Experience & Education:


Experience in event planning, programming, marketing, community development programs, or related programs. Experience programming for a diverse population is preferred.


Required Experience & Education:


High School graduation and two years of office/administrative experience, or an equivalent


combination of training and experience.


Salary Information:


Temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on theUA temporary staff salary schedule (https://www.alaska.edu/hr/talent/files/fy23-salary-schedules/C4-Temp-Staff-Salary-Grid-FY23.pdf) , Grade 78 based on education and experience. Starts at $22.36 per hour, 40 hours a week.
