Job Title
Student Accounts Receivable Specialist
Position Purpose
The primary objective of this position is to collect past due Student Accounts to increase reenrollment and reduce overall Accounts Receivable.
Essential Duties Summary
• Collect past due tuition and fees;
• Coordinate all collection activity including written correspondence, payment plans, payment posting, account adjustments, bankruptcies, student contact, and timely follow up;
• Counsel students and parents on various payment options to resolve the debt;
• Resolve account issues working with staff, parents, students, other Campus departments and outside collection agencies;
• Prepare monthly account report to determine accounts ready for assignment to outside collections and assign the accounts;
• Monitor collection contracts and prepare monthly analysis of the agencies and account performance;
• Perform high quality customer service in the SFS office and at Campus events - including phone, email, and counter assistance to students.
Required Qualifications
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Ability to respond to difficult situations diplomatically;
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products;
• Associate's degree in Business or related field;
• 1-3 years experience in a business office;
• 1-3 years of collection experience a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Banner, Argos or similar software products;
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
