Structural Steel Fitter/Welder

Job Description:
Our company is looking for a highly talented Structural Steel Fitter/Welder to join our team. We offer a clean shop environment, 40+ O.T. work weeks, and day shift operation.

Our desired Candidate should have:

The ability to analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations., monitor machinery, and assess welded components. The successful candidate will also have a steady hand and outstanding attention to detail.
While following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Individuals must have a desire to take jobs from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Previous experience as a welder/fitter or in a similar role. 3+ years preferred.

· Proficiency in various welding techniques, including stick welding.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

· Strong knowledge of welding equipment and tools.

· Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

· Design and construct templates and fixtures as needed, using hand tools.

· Experience operating cranes and rigging materials is a plus.

· Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings, using straightedge, combination square, tape measure, angle finder, and level to ensure specifications are met.

· Tack-weld components and assemblies, using Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), to obtain required configurations and positions for further welding.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.

· Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Demands: Varying standing and sitting for extended periods of time throughout the day. Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Exposure to varying environments including loud, hot, and smoke-filled areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
