Growing ASIC Structural & Misc Steel fabricator is seeking qualified candidate with steel estimating experience. Our shop produces quality structural and Miscellaneous Steel components with an emphasis on stairs, handrails, and unique fabrications. In addition to the shop fabrication, we also perform onsite installations. This candidate will be required to demonstrate the ability to read plans, understand various steel components, recognize ADA codes, and have the past work history on multiple projects simultaneously.
Your typical responsibilities will include but not limited to;
Understanding project specifications
Performing estimates and proposals and if required negotiating with clients
Coordinating with subcontractors and material suppliers.
Carefully perform take offs of construction drawings
Organize and detail take off documents
Precisely nest materials
Communicate pre-bid RFI's and submittals to clients
Assist the project manager with the defined scope of work and project constraints
Define scope of work for each trade and obtain pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
Maintain organized folders within the companies filing online filing system
Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
Identifying changed conditions in a project, developing change orders, requests for information or other records to reflect the project status.
Qualifications
Must have 5 years prior estimating skills in the steel fabrication industry
Good verbal and written communications skills are necessary
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Required to be knowledgeable with Word & Excel and understand estimating spreadsheets
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
Clean driving record, no major at-fault accidents, tickets
Drug free
