Structural Engineering Intern

Our Rancho Cordova office has an opening for a self-motivated engineer intern with 0 to 2 years of structural design experience to work on projects related to for drinking water, wastewater treatment, and conveyance infrastructure. Detailed Description:

• Work closely with project managers and other team members to execute work involving structural design for water and wastewater projects.
• Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, presentations, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
• Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
• Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects.
• Conduct field work as necessary for projects.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).
• Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Attending university working on obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or related engineering field; graduate students may also be considered.
• Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts
• Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams
• Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites
• Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems
• Experience with standard software including Risa3D, Enercalc, STAADPro, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Outlook, and Bluebeam
• EIT preferred

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location B: $17.78 - $26.68
